Book Overview 

This book reminds me of a simple formula on performance: 

P = p − i 

wherein,  
P = Performance 
p = Potential 
i = Interference(s) 

Our ability to focus is affected by many interferences2 around us. We are addicted to it without fully realizing its impact on our lives, our performance, and our ability to engage in Deep Work. These interferences trigger the release of dopamine. But ये दिल मांगे मोर (this heart (read: brain) wants/desires more) stimulation to release the same level of dopamine the next time. As a result, we become overstimulated. 

Our CyberFrat team took an official Digital Detox break from December 25, 2025 to January 4, 2026. Basically, we are overstimulated, and we need to take a Dopamine Detox break to regain our ability to perform Deep Work. This book offers the following three types of Dopamine Detox: 

  1. The 48-hour complete Dopamine Detox 

    2. The 24-hour Dopamine Detox
     

    3. The Partial Dopamine Detox
     

You may also opt for a 10-day Vipassana meditation course, which I would call the ultimate detox. You are required to cut off all interferences from your life. You are expected not to communicate, including by gestures, with others. Only meditation and the evening lecture on meditation. 

The three steps to Dopamine Detox are as follows: 

  1. Identify your biggest interferences, write them down on paper, and pin them at various places to remind yourself of them on a daily basis. 

    2. Add friction to interferences. 

    3. Remove friction for your Deep Work.
